What Claude AI can do: a breakdown of the neural network's capabilities for work and business

14 September 2026  ·  ~4 min read  ·  Olga Grigorieva, OM-Digital

Claude is not "yet another chat with a neural network" but a working tool: it writes, programs, reads documents and carries tasks through to the end. Here is a shelf-by-shelf breakdown of what exactly it can do — and where its limits are.

Short answer. Claude AI writes and edits texts of any genre, writes and debugs code, parses documents, spreadsheets and screenshots, runs multi-step tasks from brief to result, and works as an assistant on your own materials. What it cannot do is take responsibility for decisions instead of a human, or know what is not in the data. Below is what that means in practice for work and business.

Midnight, the window is dark, and the cursor is still blinking on the screen. This is what work looks like when it does not have to wait until morning — because it is done not by a tired person but by a neural network that sees no difference between three in the afternoon and three at night. Claude is exactly that kind of system: not a chatbot for entertainment, but a working tool that writes, calculates, programs and makes sense of documents at the same speed at any hour. Below, specifically and without marketing superlatives, is what it can do in practice.

What Claude AI is

Claude is a family of language models by Anthropic (Opus, Sonnet, Haiku, Fable — models of different sizes for different tasks, from simple to the most complex). You can work with it through the claude.ai website, the mobile app, the Claude Code developer tool, or embed it directly into your own service via the API. In essence it is a universal AI assistant that understands text, code, images and documents and responds with coherent, meaningful work — not a set of template phrases.

Texts — where it usually all begins

The most obvious use is text: articles, commercial proposals, letters, social media posts, sales scripts, product descriptions. Claude is equally confident writing from scratch, rewriting an existing text for a different audience, and boiling a long document down to its essence in seconds. Working with existing materials deserves a separate mention — upload a contract, a report or a spreadsheet and get not a vague summary but concrete figures and conclusions from a document dozens of pages long.

Code and routine automation

Through Claude Code the neural network writes, debugs and improves program code — from a small script to a full service. In practice this is most often the routine that used to take hours by hand: parsing data from Excel, building a Telegram bot for a specific scenario, setting up a website scraper, connecting two services via an API. The same work can be handed to the neural network entirely, without a programmer supervising every step.

Multi-step tasks, not just an answer to a question

A separate and probably the most underrated ability is to run a task from start to finish on its own: break it into steps, use the right tools (search, files, a browser, its own code), check the intermediate result and bring the job to a finished outcome rather than a single reply in a chat. This very ability grew into a line of work we at OM-Digital practise on ourselves: a staff of AI employees where Claude works through a queue of tasks without a human involved at every step.

Images and documents

Claude "sees" — you can show it a screenshot, a photo, a scanned document or a table, and it will make sense of the contents: read the text in the image, describe what is happening in it, spot an interface error from a screenshot. For business this is especially useful where data does not sit in a tidy database but in scattered scans, photos and PDFs — exactly what used to be sorted out by hand.

Plainly about what Claude cannot do yet

The neural network does not read minds and does not replace human responsibility where a decision really matters: a legal dispute, a diagnosis, a large deal — here its answer should be verified, not taken as a finished decision. It can make mistakes, especially in narrow specifics without context, and without special setup it does not remember past conversations between sessions. The practical conclusion is simple: Claude handles volume and routine superbly, but the final check on important decisions is best left to a human.

Where to start if you want to apply this in your own business

For personal tasks it is enough to open claude.ai and start with something simple — a draft letter, a document breakdown, an idea for a post. For business the conversation is usually broader: not a one-off chat but a configured process — a bot with the company's knowledge base, automation of a specific routine, a personal assistant tailored to an employee's tasks. We at OM-Digital set up such solutions turnkey and know from our own experience where the neural network really saves hours and where human control is needed — AI tools and business automation: om-digital.ru.

We will bring Claude into your processes

We will set up an assistant on your materials, automate the routine and teach your team to work with the neural network — from the first consultation to a working result.
